The GEO Collections inspiration comes from my love of geometrical designs and symmetry. You see this everywhere in nature and when I was running my old design and build remodeling company I used geometric design and patterns all the time. It was just a natural thing. It can be super simple or insanely complex and even seem chaotic but its always structured and most of the time symmetrical.
When I apply this to designing for apparel I try to think of how the garment will fit and what natural lines are already there with the human body and the garment itself. Then come up with something that hopefully enhances the lines in an attractive way. For mens garments I want to add to the masculinity and for female garments I want to add to the femininity without getting risqué and distasteful.
With GEO i’m having a lot of fun playing with colors as well. I’m trying to limit my pallet to just 2 or 3 colors and using color to add texture to the background in very subtle ways. This adds a challenge to create something simple but still convey some sort of visual depth and be able to invoke an emotion.
Some will turn out amazing and some may be ‘eh’ in the general public’s view but if I like it and it makes it past the wife’s discerning eye i’ll release it to the wild. I hope you enjoy wearing this collection as much as I do creating it.
